Profit Target

The profit target is the specific amount of profit a trader must achieve within an evaluation or trading account to complete the challenge successfully. It serves as a benchmark to assess the trader’s performance and ability to generate consistent profits.

  • Purpose: Ensures the trader demonstrates the capability to manage trades effectively and hit a measurable goal.
  • Example: If the profit target is 10% on a $100,000 account, the trader must achieve $10,000 in net profit (after deducting losses) during the evaluation period.

Max Daily Loss

The maximum daily loss is the largest loss a trader can incur within a single trading day. This rule is in place to prevent excessive risk-taking and encourage disciplined trading.

  • Purpose: Protects the trader and the account from significant drawdowns in a single day.
  • How It’s Calculated: This limit includes realised losses (closed trades), unrealised losses (open trades), and any fees.
  • Example: On a $100,000 account with a max daily loss of 5%, the trader must ensure their combined realised and unrealised losses in one day don’t exceed $5,000.

Total Max Loss

The total max loss refers to the absolute maximum drawdown allowed on the trading account across the entire evaluation or trading period. This includes all cumulative losses.

  • Purpose: Protects the account’s overall integrity by capping potential losses.
  • How It’s Calculated: It considers the account’s initial starting balance and subtracts realised and unrealised losses over time.
  • Example: If the total max loss is $10,000 on a $100,000 account, the trader’s account balance must not drop below $90,000 at any point.
  • Minimum Trading Days

The minimum trading days requirement is the smallest number of days a trader must actively place trades to complete an evaluation or meet account conditions. This rule prevents traders from passing evaluations or showing performance with just a few lucky trades.

  • Purpose: Ensures that trading performance is consistent and not reliant on isolated successes.
  • Example: If the minimum trading days requirement is 5, the trader must execute at least one trade per day for five separate calendar days.
  • Leverage

Leverage allows traders to control a larger position in the market than their actual capital would normally permit. It is expressed as a ratio (e.g., 1:100), indicating how much the trader can control relative to their account balance.

    • Purpose: Provides traders with the ability to amplify their trading power and potentially increase profits, but also increases risk.
    • How It Works: With leverage, a trader can open larger positions using only a fraction of the position’s total value.
    • Example: On a $100,000 account with 1:100 leverage, a trader could control positions worth up to $10,000,000 in the market.
